Hi, I have come to the end of a 25 year lease agreement with Enterprise Inns,(formerly a Laurel lease)and I am not intending to renew the lease. The business is presently just about breaking even, although I fear that it is only a matter of time before trade falls away again. I would like some advice as to the procedure for not renewing the lease and how the financial situation regarding the Fixtures and Fittings stands. |

Hi and welcome.
No idea about this I'm afraid.
Will you be looking at declaring bankruptcy or looking at another solution if you will be having financial problems afterwards?
Hopefully one of our experts can help.

do you own the fixtures and fittings, are they part of the lease, somtimes the pub co sell them to you,
Hasve you got a copy of your lease, usually there will be a section in there saying what happens at the end, often you have to make sure that the standard of decor etc is to a certain level or they will charge you for it, there may be other clauses so you need to read it thoroughly |

Hi Lesley
Enterprise Inns will not help you of all the landlords I have helped, the ones working for Enterprise end up being treated Like Sh .. T
They will argue clauses in old lease with Laurel should be void and some should be added despite you having not signed anything, they have the money and legal clout to out manoeuver you and they do.
Next they will put up the rent and start adding nominal charges
I think Mel, one of the experts on the forum to the left has closed a couple of public houses and it may be worth emailing her direct.
Good Luck Richard,
