I have receieved a B10 notice of registration of bankruptcy notice from the land registry. Im not to sure what the debt is, but if I pay the debt off before the court hearing will this notice be dropped? |

Hello there -
were you served with the banktruptcy petiton? Or have you moved addresses and not updated your creditors?
In the first instance I would get in touch with the creditor/solicitor stated on the form, find out what the debt relates to and try to make arrangements with them to, if you can,to pay the debt BEFORE the hearing date. If you do not contact them nor arrange alternative payment - the bankruptcy hearing will go ahead and you will be made bankrupt (whether or not you attend the hearing) Hope this helps, Melanie

Hi Melanie Thank you for your reply, sorry Im not really sure how to reply, hope this works. So if I pay the debt or make an arrangement before the court hearing in December I wont be made banktrupt? All I have receieved so far is from the land registry in Plymouth. I called the courts and they told me its Lowell portfolio group but they dont know how much for. I have written to Lowell asking what the debt is for but as yet no response, I just need to know if I pay it will I be ok as I have properties that are listed on the notice. Thank you so much for your time in this matter joanna

Yes if you pay the debt and costs you will not be made bankrupt, Powell can be slipery though so you need to be persistant record everything, get a receipt and u would still turn up at the hearing to show the judge it has been paid, don't leave anything to chance |

i would put money on it being an old credit card that you have not used for about 4 years with a debt of about £1500 |

Really? They would make me bankrupt for that much? Why have Lowell never written to me asking me to pay his debt back? I have a property on the market and Ive been told I cant sell it ubil this notice is lifted. j |

yes, it is sort of their speciality, expect when they do speak to you to have dealings with their solicitors Hamptons.
as to the no contact, when did you last move address, that is usually the problem |

Occasionally it does happen that it is a case of mistaken identity, have you had any debt problems in the past, or know of any debt outstanding |
