Hi and welcome.

You should open a new account not associated with any of your creditors. The Co-op come highly recommended.

It is likely that your main account will be frozen and if they are a creditor, it will probably be closed by the bank.

Follow through
Make your dreams come true
Don't give up the fight
You will be alright

hello there

If your bank account it not linked to anyof your creditors (Ie you do not have and overdraft or creditor card or loan linked to that bank) you would probably be able to continue to use that account.
if however, the bank account is linked to your creditors, I would advise you to open a new basic account with an alternative bank before filing for bankruptcy, and that way you would still have a debt card to use

Regards, Melanie

It depends on who you bank with. HSBC and First Direct will definitely close the account but other banks, providing they aren't a creditor, may allow you to keep the account.

Lloyds allowed me to keep a full account, but when I needed a new card they would only give me a cash card that could be used in one of their machines.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side.
