May I wish everyone a Belated Happy & Healthy New Year. Our Christmas/New Year break with the family was fabulous. Now back to reality...AD done & dusted & moving on with the hospital appointments. Both Mum & myself are well, I cannot believe it will be a year in March since I was diagnosed. Wow has this year flown by. I trust everyone is plodding along quietly? Xmas Baby, How is your Mum doing?

Thanks Girls. Thought you would have enjoyed the pics. LOL Hope you have both been well & had a good Christmas etc. Tracey, Whereabouts are you flying to/staying? I can definately Recommend Anna Maria Island, it was just beautiful and in the same direction, Sarasota. We only got to see a small part, St Armands Circle, but can recommend 'Tommy Bahamas' for Pina Coladas & HUGE desserts. Boy is there some money around there, we only looked in the windows!! The Columbia restaurant is recommended I believe, with their famous 1905 salad. One thing I learnt early on is if there is a 'small' portion option then go for that, it's still huge! Went to the Hard Rock in Tampa, the casino is enormous as well as the burgers...10oz!!! Managed some shopping at an outlet mall & got a couple bargains which was nice. Mainly spent time at my sisters as the wedding of my neice was sprung upon everyone! Oooh and went to Weeki Watchi to see the mermaid show which was so bad/kitsch it was good. Ooh and on the same trip went to Tarpon Springs, a small but lovely, very Greek, fishing port. Aaaah all seems so long ago now. LOL. Not allowed back to work until at least March.............such a chore......!

So glad you had a good time!! Driven past Tampa many a time and our Gulf Coast holiday has always started when we crossed the Sunshine Skyway!
Can't wait until I can go again.

Glad to see you back glafy. Your holiday sounds fab. I've only been to Disneyworld, stayed in the grounds for the whole two weeks! but I think when we go again, we'll venture out a bit more.

I loved the pictures Glafy!
It's so difficult to decide where to go! At the moment we are planning on 9 days in Orlando but can't decide where to stay. We looked at Sarasota but we're going with Virgin and they don't have a huge choice of hotels there so at the moment it'll probably be Clearwater for 5 days.
I can't wait!

Hi Glafy and Happy New Year to you too.
Glad to hear you had a great time in Florida (lucky you!). Maybe one day I will get to go there too, fingers crossed. Great news to hear both you and your mum are doing well. I am so happy to hear that news. Thanks for asking about my mum. She is doing okay but had a bit of a relapse just before christmas due to side effects from all the different drugs she is taking now. There are so many. She has recovered a little since Christmas but is constantly tired these days. It's very hard seeing her so low and without the energy she used to have. We all just want to see her get better but I think we have to resign ourselves to the fact that all we can hope for is her condition stabilising and making her as comfortable as she can be. It's so hard seeing someone you love dearly going through all of this as I'm sure you know only too well.
Hope 2012 brings you all you wish for Glafy.... and more.
