Mr J had a business, the rent fell into 1 months arrears. The bailiffs broke the locks with the use of a locksmith and entered the premises and removed the goods. He was not present when they entered the property. The bailiffs did not give any details of the company they worked for. The bailiffs entered the commercial property and took an inventory which they did not get Mr J to sign, and came back when the premesis was closed hence the breaking of the locks. It is also worth noting that throughout this ordeal there was no police presence.

A couple of days later Mr J received a letter from the landlords solicitor that the lease had been terminated and that the termination date waste same day the bailiffs took action. The letter also stated that the bailiffs had a distress order.

He would like to know if the conduct of the bailiffs was lawful.

Have the Bailiffs been round before? If so, did you let them into your property?

Follow through
Make your dreams come true
Don't give up the fight
You will be alright
