Nationwide no longer do accounts for people in Bankruptcy. Do you know what other banks may do similar accounts?

Hi Donna,

As debtinfo has said Co-op do a great account called a cashminder, barclays do a basic account and NatWest have a step account for people who are bankrupt.

Can recommend Nat West, once I was discharged one year they gave me a full debit account. Then after 6 months they gave me an overdraft and a savings account.

Natwest are now changing things - even their basic account now has a card which states 'Basic' all over it.

I wouldn't recommend Natwest now - the cash card for their basic account can only be used at their own cash points.

Were you told recently that Nationwide no longer offer basic accounts if you are BR? A poster on the sister IVA forum was told last year that they would still offer an account.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side.
