I was discharged from bankrupcy in June 2007 but find it difficult to upgrade my bank account from just a cash card. I feel very vulnerable having to carry cash around with me all the time. Any advice greatly appreciated

you might want to lok at one of the pre pay credit cards. There are lots to choose from.

They work like a credit card but but need to have money on the account ( little like a phone pay as you go card)

as I said there are several but you may want to look at tuxedo first because paying in can be done at any barclays bank Plus you can open one easily on the internet ( i tried myself last week and it came in 2 days - and i paid by SMS !)

there are lots to choose from so might be worth googling it.

Thank you for your advice both. I have googled it and there are a lot of options out there. Just finding the right one for me and will definitely apply.
