Hello Everyone,
I'm new over here after 4 weeks on the IVA board. After exploring that route it is now apparrant that we cant afford an IVA and that my husbands work is not secure enough.
I'm talking to Melanie tomorrow about BR and would just like to be as prepared as possible when I go through the facts with her. Just looking at our I&E sheet that was pit together for our IVA. I missed a couple of things out and wondered if they could be added. Somehow I doubt it, but if you dont ask...........

1. Pre-school costs. We have a 3 year old who gets 5 free sessions a week free. I forgot to add our 6 month old though. She wont be going for another 18 months (when she is 2), but when she does it will be about £88 pm for one year (£19.50 per week/3 x £6.50 sessions) until she qualifies for a free place. This is cheaper than paying a childminder or nursery fees.

2. Bit of a strange one, but once a year in the Summer (like now) we maintain and re-do our sons grave. This entails cleaning stone, laying new gravel stones (small stones that rest on the memorial), laying new soil to prevent sinking and planting new flowers for the year. We usually spend about £50 doing this. Would this come out of housekeeping budget?

Many thanks everyone and glad I found this site.

Hi Drowning Mummy and welcome to the forum.

They key here is that allowances for expenditure in BR are far more reasonable and realistic than in an IVA. Therefore, I don't believe you'll have an issue.

Very much so!
I never like to enter into anything (in this case BR) in the dark. I'm forever asking questions and dont want to be hit with any unexpected surprises. As I mentioned, on maternity until 3rd September, not far from London (Medway, family in London though), so should not be a problem at all. Thank you for the opportunity.
