Hi,
I was just wondering if people have been successful in obtaining credit, bank account, mortgage etc after clean up of credit files and the 'bad stuff' dropped from your credit files?
Many thanks

Yes - many people find that they are able to easily borrow money again after their credit files are updated.
For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com |

Hi KBW and welcome to the forum.
Personally, I haven't tried. After years of unmanageable debt, suffice it to say I'm not keen to repeat the process.

I agree with you Julian - the only things I would like are a bank account with a proper debit card (although the Co-op are great and Visa Electron isn't too bad) and possibly car finance in a few years.
Loans and credit cards are a definite no no!
Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Hi Skippy,
Remember that BR comes off your credit file after 6 years anyway!

I am not going to recommend it ( i dont ever want credit again ) but my mum went bankrupt many years ago because of debts her estranged husband had run up. she now has a car loan, a credit card and a mortgage with one of the best trackers on the market. So yes you can , it takes time but it will disappear eventually. |
