Caller owes £20.000 to Halifax building society, suffers from dementia, elderly, no money at all, he is going into a care home. What can he do about his debt.

Hi,

I advise he speaks to a family member or carer and gets them to take advice from the CAB as soon as possible, they will help him through whatever needs to be done.

I completely agree with Viki, make an appointment asap with your local CAB, if needs be they can arrange ahome visit in such circumstances. They ca liaise with his creditors to fully explain the situation. Melanie
