Advice please on how to respond to a debt collection letter

I received a letter from a debt collection agency which does not specify what for but I think it may be related to loans taken out 2001

Hello there, and a warm welcome to the forum

With regard to the letter, your original loan company has passed your account to a collection agency, you would be well advised to contact that company to ascertain the original creditor.
It may well be that you will have to come to an arrangement with the collection company to repay the debt either under installments or in a one off payment. Do you have other debt? Do you have an income? If you post a little bit more information we may be able to help you further
