Hi all

I received a letter from the OR confirming that I was discharged from my bankruptcy 2 weeks ago.

Would someone please advise if there are any benefits to advertising my discharge? Would it mean that I don't have to write to the Credit Reference Agencies and my creditors notifying them of the discharge?

Thanks

Ariel

as far as I know that's all done for you.

You should not have to write to anyone.

Your creditors will be informed, your name will come off the Insolvency Register but I'm not aware of the discharge being sent to to the CRA.

What you should do is go into the Insolvency Register and print off a copy of the discharge - if you need if afterwards it will cost you about £70 I think.

Thanks for your reply. Would you know if the Insolvency Register shows the discharge immediately or is there a period of time before it does?

Thanks

The insolvency register should update overnight. As Niobe says you will need to print copies of the page showing that you are discharged as you may need them in future.
