called as she has a fine from the courts for non payment of a TV Licence,and has paid most of the fine apart from £34.She has received a text message on her phone asking her to contact them, and then she has received a hand posted letter saying that she now owes £249, she wanted to know if they can do this.

I've no idea on this other than to say that they can add interest and charges.

Have a word with CAB to see if they can assist.

Surely there will be a schedule of repayments, amounts/frequency from the court?
