my wife wants to arrange a secured loan against the property we live in. She is the sole owner. Companies she has applied to say yes but when they find that I live here as well, they turn round and say no because of a new law regarding emotional involvement. can anybody advise

Hi bluetiger and welcome to the forum

I think that you need to take specific legal advice on this point. The lenders will be concerned that you may have a beneficial interest in the property which could affect the value of their security in the future.
