For the first time in over 2 years I'm feeling it's about time to sort our credit files out in the hope we may once again in the future apply for a mortgage. My husband had a quick peek at his the other day and whilst some creditors have marked files 'settled' there are four listed a defaulted. Is this correct and how do we go about making sure everything is listed as it should be?

You will need to write to the data controller of each creditor asking them to amend the entry to satisfied and make sure the default is not after the date of your bankruptcy.
