Hi everyone, I'm new here and on the verge of having to declare myself bankrupt. It's not a good experience but made slightly easier by places like these with other people who have experienced the pain!

I need to know whether the following will be used to assess whether I can and will receive an IPA. My only income throughout the next 12 months will be as follows (approximately);
£6000 bursary
£3000 student loan
£2500 maintainence grant
I am returning to education and training to be a primary school teacher and I will be effectively unemployed. Will any of this be taken from me? If so I may just decline the student loan so I have no surplus...

I'd really appreciate any help! I'm struggling to find this information.
I'm just desperate for this to be done and to have a fresh start again.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Firstly, unless you have done anything such as gambling, a BRO is unlikely to happen.

I'm not sure what will happen with that income - one of our experts will be along to help or you could just give one a call for some free advice.

Hi Savvyspender,

The student loan won't be included as income. But the bursary will, however, it's unlikely that you will have a surplus for an IPA if this is your only income and you won't have a part time job.

I advise you speak to an expert on here to chat this through, or visit the CAB.
