Hi all....Ive been discharged since late 2011 and doing well....so I`m living proof that theres life after bankruptcy . While I was looking through my credit report it appears that some of my prebankruptcy creditors are still entering information...like "defaults" every month . Can I tell them to stop? Or will this go on forever?
It won't go on forever. Any defaults should be removed back to the date of BR so you need to send them a copy of your discharge which, hopefully, you printed off when you were discharged.
The record will stay on your crdeit file for six years
most creditors will amend your credit file to show partcially satisfied if they do not you can ask the credit agency to put a Notice of correction against the entry.
you then write (again) to the creditors providing a copy of bankruptcy and discharge notice asking them to update their records. They do not have to update the records but most do except L....s
The more I have to do with humans the more I think that the world would be a better place if it was run by animals.
Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side.
