hi, i'm a year in to my iva just had back my report i'm a single mum 2 kids one of whom i care for so returning to work at this time isn't option at the moment as my disabled child needs me full time..the thing is i'v meet someone else and at some point we will want to move inwith each other i know he won't have to paid into my IVA..but i will no longer receive benefits apart from my carers allowance and pay into the house ho will i be able to continue to make payments into my IVA? i don't want the IVA to carry on over years and years like it has done already because before the IVA i was in a DMP for 3years and none of the debt has gone down ..i feel my only thing is bankruptcy do you agree? ..i'm also scared of it going in the local paper as i hate ppl knowing everything ! please help!

Hi Kelly,

You need to discuss your change in circumstances with your IP and fill in a new income and expenditure. When the changes happen.

Even though you may lose some benefits, you'll be sharing the household bills, so your IVA payment may not be affected.

Discuss all your concerns with your IP, they should always be there to try and help.

If you did declare bankruptcy, it's unlikely to go in the paper.
