What should I be looking for on my credit file? I declared bankruptcy at the end of 2009 and I want to start rebuilding my credit rating as best I can. Many of the debts I had before the bankruptcy are still showing as unsatisfied? Should these say satisfied as they we're covered by the bankruptcy.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Yes they should all be showing the date of your BR as far as I understand it. Mine was May 2012 and that's when all of mine are showing from. The ones that are still open anyway I've had over 60% of my file closed.

You will need to send your BR cert or some other proof to the addresses on your credit file.

I was very anal about my credit rating before I was forced to go BR ( it was 997) and so I am spending £18 a month keeping an eye on all 3.

Hi Antony,

You need to contact any creditor that is showing default and ask them to change it to satisfied.

If any creditor is showing last default date anytime after your court date, then you need to write to them to amend it to your bankruptcy court date or before.

Your bankruptcy will drop off your file end of 2015
