Hi all, I declared myself bankrupt in 2009 after losing my employment. Post BR I was accepted for a Vanquis credit card which I have used only when really needed. I have noticed that my payments of £80 pm are only paying the interest, at the moment I cant afford to pay any extra as im on maternity. Does anyone know if there is a card I can transfer the balance to so that im paying off the balance rather than just the interest?. Or other best way to try and get this dealt with.
I got automatic early discharge from my BR in April 2010, BR was Nov 2009 so is still on my file.
Any advice greatly appreciated x

Hi,
I don't think you will be able to get another card while the BR is still on your file and it's not a good idea to apply for too many as that will ring alarm bells with lenders.
You could try having a chat with them and see if you can make token payments for a while until you return to work.

Hi ONK,
You may get an Aqua card, but I don't think they do 0% interest deals for people with bad credit, in fact, their interest rates are quite high. You could compare the two, or as Niobe says, discuss your situation with Vanquis.
