If my ex-partner and joint owner of my former home has paid the trustee a sum of money for my share of the beneficial interest, does this amount go towards my creditors? If that's the case, combining that amount with my monthly IPA amount, I will be paying well in excess the amount I was declared bankrupt for. Can this happen?

Hi Emma, there are fees, and interest and charges to add on so you don't just owe the original debt anymore unfortunately. It will be a lot more.

Have you finished your IPA?

I suggest you speak to the official receiver if in any doubt.
