Can you have a joint bankruptcy with your wife if so what would be the cost .we do receive some housing benefit and I receive industrial injury benefit

You have to each declare bankruptcy separately, the fee is £705 each.

Have you sought debt advice yet?

You do need to seek some advice - the experts on here can help.

You could also gain some reduction if you are on certain benefits.

What are your debts? Do you have any assets to protect?

is it possible to protect assets when going BR? That not seen as dishonest?

I've got a friend considering this and they asked me I have no idea as I didn't have any apart from my car which i sold and bought back. So I wanted to ask here.

All assets would have to be declared. What I meant was if there was a privately owned house involved or a car worth more than about £1500.

Ah I see, thanks for the clarification. I'll pass that on. I think she has nothing like I had so it should be straight forward for her.
