Did your bank say why they closed the account? Do you owe them money? Did you write to them after the BR was granted and ask for the account to stay open? Sorry so many questions, not BR yet, and want to keep account.

The Cooperative cash minder is one of the favourites on here. They are BR friendly, and you get an electron debit card.

Has anyone ever heard of them not being accepted by the co-op for a cash minder account? I rang them last week to open one, and after they took all my details said it was pending and I had to ring back on Monday to find out whether or not I'd been accepted!! Was honest with them and told them why I needed it... am def on the electrol register.I currently sublet so my name is not on the lease or any bills would this mean opening an account is an issue?

I think it is the norm for the coop to refer applications, haven't heard of anyone not being accepted.

Hi My partner application was referred (by co op)but a few days later got his accepted letter in the post. I was accepted by co op straight away following my BR.

I had opened a abbey bank account before i was BR and this had to be closed as they do not allow BR to havre any other account than a savings one even if the OR contacts them

Now with the co op and couldnt be happier
