My father bought a car and has ownership and proof of purchase. He allows me to use it, for commuting to work and taking my daughter to school. I have no public transport links where I live. He paid approx £8000 for the car. If I go bankrupt will this be outside my bankruptcy exempt?

Hi and welcome,

If the car belongs to your father and you have the proof then there will be no problem - you can drive it.

The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity. – Ulysses S. Grant

Hi, as Niobe has said, if you're just using your father's car then that's fine and won't be affected.
