Hi all,

I'm thinking of gong bankrupt. My only concern is that I have a car registered to me that I don't own.

My mother took the car out on finance 2 years ago & has 2-3 years left on the agreement.

Can this car be taken even if I don't own it?

Any advice would be much appreciated

Hi and welcome,

If you can prove that you don't own the car there shouldn't be a problem. The registration document states that that the registered keeper is not necessarily the legal owner.

Just get paperwork from your mum to prove it.

Thank you so much for your reply :)

That's such a relief to know, she has all the documents so can prove it's hers.

I can't see there being a problem personally.
