Hi, I wonder if you can help me? I am £52000 in debt, all unsecured. My monthly income each month is £1023, including my DLA and tax credit allowance. I live at home with my parents. My outgoing each month excluding my debt repayments is approx. £850/900, this includes the board I pay my Parents. However I do also need to building in other expenses such a wheelchair maintanence. Yes i've been foolish, yes I've lived beyond my means. I'm worried sick and I don't know where to turn. Is bankruptcy the right way to go, and do you suggest I ask an Insolvency Practition to act for me? - or is this something I can do on my own? Please help me.

you should contact one of the experts on this site for advise about bankruptcy but if they advise you should go bankrupt you should be able to do this yourself the forms are available online at insolvancy website if you have any questions you can all ways post them here and they will be answered

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum

Bankruptcy is certainly an option for you, and if you have no assets which would be at risk from the actions of a Trustee, it could be often said that this might be your better option. An insolvency practitioner would be able to advice you more specifically on this point, or your local CAB, and at the end of the day the application forms are relatively simple to process and submit. These can either be obtained from your local Court, or www.insolvency.gov.uk - which also has a lot of helpful information you might like to read first.

For an informal chat about any financial difficulties, or advice as to the options available, I can be contacted via my website - www.melaniegiles.com
