Hello everyone,
I was officially declared BR at Romford County Court on 17th July. I was told by the usher there that the OR's office in Southend would be in contact either that afternoon or on the Friday. To this day they have not actually contacted me and I'm starting to worry (again).
My concern is that I have been asked to undertake a 12 month secondment to the Philippines from mid-September and I only have around 8 weeks to have any IPA/IPO sorted out.
DO you think in your experience that I should get the ball rolling with this myself or should I not bother the OR? I don't want to appear to be rushing but I also want to get this sorted asap.

I would give them until Friday morning and if you still haven't heard then give them a ring. Did speak to anyone from the OR's office while you were at court?

mst,
I was told to call the OR not the other way round, i was told to leave it a couple of hours for paperwork to be faxed and them call them.
If you were told the OR would call you then I would of expected them to have contacted you by now, they are usually very hot on this. One reason they are usually quick in case you have an asset that could lose value if not dealt with quickly etc.
Can't do you any harm giving them a call. |

As if by magic I received a letter when I got home yesterday indicating that an Official Receiver has been appointed to me and that I have an interview next Wednesday 30th July.
I also got in the post my new Bank card from the Co-Op and can proceed to getting my bill payments sorted out.
All in all this whole process seems to so far have taken no time at all. I had to wait 1 week for a court appointment, and following being declared BR on 17th July my OR appointment is on 30th July??
Am I right to be worried about this being so quick? |

I will be interested to know how you get on with the OR particularly as regards to keeping a car as I am going to be filing early sept.
Kind regards

The car I own outright was bought second hand for £1800 roughly3 years ago. The costs for running the car are high in that I privately garage the car for £45 a month but this lowers the insurance premium and also prevents it from getting damaged further (it has been vandalised twice in as many years).
I will let you know how the interview goes. |
