Evening all,

I would just like your thoughts and feelings on what I am going to do and also if you have any experience of this.
Here goes:
Have survived on maternity pay (just) until now but going back to work a week after we declare ourselves BR. I have accumulated a fair bit of leave (3 months) which my company are more than happy for me to take (I would get Christmas off); however they have also dangled a carrot and given me the chance to cash this leave in to the value of approx £2500 gross. We are going to use £1000 of that to pay the BR fees, £250 to buy or BI, £100 to buy our daughter a car seat (she turns 9 months in Sep and needs a front facing one), £250 for a new fridge-freezer (our one broke today, I will take photo's of it and produce a receipt), £320 car insurance (hope I can keep the car, need to pay insurance upfront as I cant get credit!!!), £170 car tax. All in all that comes to £2090 (what I can expect to get after tax).

They are all essential items and I will have receipts for everything, my wage slip will show 'Leave Encashment', but I'm not sure how the OR will feel about me spending that money days before the BR.

What are your feelings? Please be honest.
Ta!

Oh thank you so much. Can relax a bit now, have just recovered from constantly feeling guilty about going BR and now this!
Thanks for quick response.
