How does law work if your debtor is an 'off plan developer' in Spain where you couldnt afford to complete on and agreed purchase of a property & are required in contract to pay 50%of value (approx £60K)which of course you cant pay.Can this be settled in UK or will Spanish law require further penalty

Hi trouble

My understanding is that this debt will be included in any bankruptcy in the UK. You would need to speak to a lawyer who has Spanish law experience to be sure. I know PWF Solicitors in the Midlands have one.
