Hi there,

We're trying to fill in our Income and Expenditure on our SOA, and following advice gained from here, we've put in a holiday fund (£60), an allowance for birthday/christmas/wedding/anniversary etc etc etc gifts(£25) and a contingency/emergency allowance (£25). We're a family of three (two adults and a small child). Does this seem excessive or greedy?? As someone who's never asked anyone for a penny before (because we've borrowed it thinking we could pay it back easily!), I feel awful asking for all these things.

Also, our petrol/parking expenditure is £357 and we're worried the OR will disallow this or some of it. I travel 300 miles per week with work and have to pay £100 a month parking in a town centre car park. Should they allow this ad how can I 'prove' these things or will I not have to?

Thanks,

I

Hi

As long as you can justify it there should not be a problem, it looks fine to me

Hi,

Just bumping this up in the hope of getting a reply. We're really struggling with filling in the I and E and could do with an answer to the last question please.

Thanks,

I

Hi ians
the fact is that we are never sure exactly what one examiner will allow compared to another.
If the mobile is necessary for work then a modest sum per month may be allowed with one examiner but not another. So the prudent thing is to list it as an expenditure anyway. Remember you will be left disposable income, the OR never takes it all so you could continue with the mobile from your own funds as it were.
Re the clothing allowance, try £100 and explain the work aspect of this. It may be trimmed back, it may not, so again it's worth a try.

Assisting where I can.
