Hi once again,
Both myself and my wife are declaring bankruptcy. Could someone please clarify how we fill in our SOA. Do we put full amounts for everything on our list of debts and our I&E or do we halve it all? Also, are we ok to put the same info on the reasons for our debt? Although our incomes aren't exactly the same, they are very similar, and everything we have has just been shared over the years, even though some loans etc are in my name and some are in my wife's.
Thanks,
I |

Hi ians on your SoA you list all debts that are solely yours plus those that are joint, full amounts. Your wife does the same. I know this gives a distorted view of the total debt you have as a couple as your joint debts are listed on both and in full but the examiner will know this as you will both meet with the same one. The same with your expenditures, list the full amounts. Obviously your expenditure figures should therefore read the same as your wife's.

Thanks so much Assist-you're answering loads of my questions at the moment!
I do have another. . I've just been looking on the insolvency website and it keeps talking about 'liabilities'. In the case of us handing back the house and therefore the mortgage and secured loan shortfall being included in the bankruptcy, do they count as liabilities too or is it just credit cards and loans?
Thanks again,
