Hi again,

I've just had a thought. My wife and I will both go bankrupt on the same day and so expect to deal with the same OR etc. Will we have a joint IPA or will we have one each? I've always just assumed it would be a joint one, but maybe not?

Thanks,

I

The IPA would be calculated on a pro rata basis dependant on the amount of income each of you brings into the household. They would be separate IPA agreements, as creditors are not necessarily all joint creditors, to enable any monies to be fairly distributed.

OK,

So would we need to have a disposabel income of £100 EACH to be given an IPA then?

Hi CG
and thanks for your comments.
As you know all of the experts on this forum give up their time free of charge as they all want to help where they can.
In particular, I like the fact that, in the unusual event of an expert being mistaken in the advice they have given (nobody can be right 100% of the time) another expert will come along and redeem the situation.
For me that's not to be highlight a weakness in the mistaken expert, but demonstrate the strength of the forum.

I absolutely agree, John. It amazes me the times some of you are on here, offering your advice (sometimes the early hours of the morning!)

Both Ian and I greatly appreciate what you all do and you never know, maybe if we keep asking the questions, Ian and I could eventually become mini experts oursleves and give something back to the forum!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks John

I have found that I only need to post where necessary as there are so many knowledgable people on here who have answered the post already

Ian

Basically yes, based on pro rata income and expenditure.

Haha! I wasn't sure if you'd read Suzanne's answer prior to posting yours.
