Hi. Could you please tell me if I am to cancel a current CCJ token payment before a creditor makes me BR or do I keep on paying it or will an OR see this as preferential treatment? I do not pay any of my creditors as from yesterday but am worried about what to do about the CCJ I have as this is obviously a payment made by the courts and I don't want the baliffs calling.
Please help....desperate!
Thank you so much, Kathy

Hi Kathy,
You should stop the payments to this creditor if you are made Bankrupt, this will not be seen as preferential treatment as it was agreed via the court, however if you know for sure you are going to be made Bankrupt I would contact the court or creditor and inform them of this and let them know that payments will be stopping this will likely stop them incurring further costs by instructing Bailiffs or following another warrant of execution against the judgment.

Hi Brett. Thank you so much for your reply and advice. I will do exactly that and contact the Creditor who issued the CCJ and contact the Court if I have to. I appreciate your help, thank you again. Take care & warm regards, Kathy.

Hi just to reiterate Brett's post, you should stop payments re the CCJ and notify the various parties of this ONLY once you are BR. To give them this information before BR would leave you open to visits from the bailiff's.
