Well, not new but I'll run this one past you experts :)
Will be going bankrupt as soon as I get paid owed wages from the company that made me redundant (that's a point, another question there's Ill ask in a second). In around 6-12 months time, I will be getting rid of my car which is on it's last legs, and replacing it with a similar sized vehicle worth slightly more which is being given to me. Would this be allowed, bearing in mind it's required to get to work and back?
Also, back to the redundancy thing. I was made redundant from my last (my dream!) job being owed just over £2500. 1k of that will pay for the bankruptcy for both of us. The rest will be paying people we owe (but not included in the order) - priority folks like electric/gas bills, rent & tax, and buying us a much required new mattress. Would there be any issue with doing that, or is it best we make sure we do that before going BR? |

Hi if the car you have is necessary for your work and worth less than £2500 you would be able to keep it. If you were to replace it when, or just before, it's no longer serviceable you are able to replace it provide it too is necessary for work and worth less than £2500.
Re the redundancy payment. To use £1K for your bankruptcy is fine and as your not going BR until you receive it I would pay those bills then go BR. I would also disclose the redundancy payment to the OR and show him the paid bills to explain where the other £1.5K went as they are priority debts.
