I have just had a card posted through the door with regard to me debt arrears from Co-operative bank. They have instructed Power 2 Contact to visit my home address within the next 10 days to discuss my arrears.

I do not want any coming to my home address to discuss my debt.
I live with my aged mother and the last she wants if I am out is to have to deal with these people. Is there anyway I can stop this.

Are they allowed to do this?

Hi

Thay are allowed to do this, as they term this a form of "help" by getting someone to discuss your situation with you. You could try telling them that there is no one at home for the next few weeks as you are working away or going on holiday, that might buy you some time.

I have already instructed a 3rd party to deal with my debt situation. Why isn't the creditor going through them rather than getting another company to come to my home.

Let's put in another way do i have to discuss my debt with this company on my doorstep or can i order them away. What happens if I refuse to discuss my debt with someone coming to my home. Can they insist that I discuss it with them. What if they keep on coming to my home?
