Well after lots and lots of research and worrying about stuff I finally went bankrupt on Friday... what can I say... it just seemed all too easy!
Got to the court about 10.30am, gave my forms to this guy at the counter, he checked them and there were only a couple of amendments, then swore on the bible (that was the most embarrassing bit as there were people standing behind me and I couldn't get the words out properly!) then handed over the payment and told to come back at 2pm to see the judge. So left court at 11am, went for a stroll down the seafront, James bought me lunch and tried to calm my nerves, got back to court 1.15pm (bit early but better than being late), and 2.30pm a guy came out and handed me my forms and said as of 2.20pm today you have been declared bankrupt!!!
I was really expecting to see the judge, all prepared to see him and that was it! There was a young girl sat next to me who was going bankrupt too, it was sad to see that she had done no research, knew nothing about the official receiver interview, nothing about her bank account being frozen. I was so shocked that someone could make such a life changing decision and take it with a pinch of salt!!!
Anyway, we left court at 2.30pm, went to the Co-op and opened an account (which I am glad to say has been accepted) and went to the pub for a much needed drink!!!
By 7pm that night I was in bed, exhausted! Think all the stress and worry just caught up on me and today I have come down with a sore throat and cold! Typical!
Now I need to prepare for the OR interview. I was told that they would contact me and that I didn't need to do anything until I received my pack. I also have to send a letter to the OR about my details not being put in the paper, apparantly the judge has nothing to do with it and its the decision of the OR. I hope this correct? How long does it take for details to be put in the paper?

Well done Maizie, Sorry to hear you not well That other poor girl in there with you she could have done with this site and got more advice but hey at least we have friends here that can help us out when we need that bit extra advice. I dont know about the OR and leaving stuff out I had it in black and white on my SOA for the OR to read about leaving hubbies details out being ex forces etc and it still went in. Never mind, hope you feel better soon. Im feeling rather depressed at the moment, i have done everything my OH wanted like give my car back, go BR, let the house go, gave up my course and then he could go back onto days and now i have nothing, no social life nothing. Im getting very resentfull now and feel so low and depressed, even though we have done the BR bit I hate this life now, I want to work but having 3 children to look after i cant do nights hubby goes at 5.30am, cant do lates hubby in at 6.30pm, cant do days no one to look after the kids, oh well thats my life gone eh? Take care Jo

Thanks again Maizie, I will just try and concentrate on the debt free future that we will have. I know i am just being daft, i wanted to air my views, after we spoke earlier he is talking now to me and i think he understands a bit more of where i am coming from. I have got him to go onto Facebook to find his old friends as I have this site and i think he gets annoyed by it buts its my only social life at the moment. I need you all on here not just for advice but for friendship too. Thank you JO
