just wanted to say a big thank you to everybody on this forum, the advice has been excellent, and i honestly dont know what i would have done if i had`nt found it, my oh went bk on the 8th of august,it was a lot easier than we were expecting, my ohs appointment was for 9 15. we were called into a room, with a very friendly and sympathetic young lady who assured my oh that he wasnt the first and most def wouldnt be the last, she went through everything on his soa, took the money, £345 ( we were exempt from paying the court fee ) then told us to go and have a coffee, and return back in 30 mins, when we returned, she called us back into the room, and gave my oh his bk form, all done. we then had to wait for a phone call from the or, they were extremely pleasant on the phone and just said that they would be in touch for an interview, we came out of court, i think a bit shell shocked, but i think it was more the build up of circumstances, me being made redundant from work, oh being ill, then i went and got another job, less money, and longer hours, which resulted in being sick again, with bad back and hips. The or telephoned today, my ohs appointment was originaly for yesterday, but oh had hospital appointment, so they re-scheduled it, upshot is i can buy bi for £1 + £211, we are allowed to keep the car, 02 vectra, he was not interested in anything in the house, we had to go into detail as to what we had spent the secured loan on, and also 2 personal loans oh had, was not interested in what was spent on credit cards, he told oh that we had been living above our means, from when we bought the house 2 years ago which we already knew, but that was about it realy, he said if he needed any more information they would write to oh, otherwise he will be discharged 08/08/09, couple of interesting points though, because we had joint current account with barclays, i have been allowed to keep the account just taken ohs name off, and barclays have informed us that as from mon 18/08/08 they have changed their policy, and bk can now get a debit card, instead of just a cash card account, so oh applied for that, and one of his creditors was barclays for a personal loan, i hope this isnt to long winded, i just wanted to thank everybody on here for their advice and support, and just to tell our experiance, it was no where near as bad as we thought, and although oh still getting stressed, hopefully he will calm down now, there really is light at the end of the tunnel jenny x |

Hi Jenny
And well done! You have done it. No your message was not too long winded it gives others about to do the same as us the ins and outs of what to expect. I bet now you can sleep at night, thats great. We did ours on the 4th of August so all being well and providing they dont find anything that they would call untoward then we will be discharged 4/8/09. Take care and keep posting. Jo
