Just realised that the bank only just gave me the new loan, if i go bancrupt now will they think I got the loan purposely before going bancrupt?
How do i prove i didn't?
hindsight is a wonderful thing. |

I seem to recall someone saying it wasn't illegal or even frowned upon to borrow money to go bankrupt with, if that's your purpose, but I'd rather hold out for an expert opinion on that one ;) |

Hi and thanks for answering.
there is a lengthy rant i posted earlier which explains my situation a bit, but in brief, the bank advised the loan to pay off another loan and credit card, but i struggle getting my head round things a bit, and wasn't till i got home and my husband looked through all the paperwork that we saw they'd put my income down as being more than it is for the purpose of the loan. Also the repayment is £11 a mth more than i was paying before.
The money went into the bank the same day the application was put through, I tried to cancel and was told that because the original loan was paid off, it now doesnt exist and they'd have to re-apply for another one for the original outstanding amount. This would be at todays rate and would work out about the same as if i kept the new lawn they'd arranged.
To make matters worse, i was quite over drawn and the remainder of the loan was put into my account and nowhere near covers the credit card it was meant to pay off.
The bancruptcy decision is a result of this loan, i had a lot of debt, the bank offered to help with my credit card and they've made it worse.
hindsight is a wonderful thing. |
