Now officially BR!
Tried opening 2 co-op accounts straight afterwards but decision has been deferred.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi, congratulations on getting through today. I have opened a co-op cash minder in preperation for when I go bankrupt next Thursday. I applied for this account over the phone as there isn't a branch near me. My application for a cash minder account got refered to the banks underwriters. I was given a reference number and was asked to call back in 3 days to find out if I had been successful. I phoned and was told my application had been accepted and I would get a welcome pack through the post within the next 5 days. I got this the next day and my Visa Electron debit card the day after - still waiting for my pin number, but I recieved a paying in book yesterday and I have set up online banking. |

Hi DM so pleased it went well for you today, as for the co-op cashminder account I opened ours in July as I had to change dd's over as I thought we might of been able to get an IVA, we are going to ask the OR to write to the co-op as dd's and wages go in and out of this account. I'll also ring them when we are BR.

Hi DM,
Hope you are OK after today.
The same happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I went into a branch day of BR, my application was deferred so they sent copies of ID to HQ. I phoned a few days later and they said it had been rejected because of ID issues, I think because I am not on the electrol role for my current address (which I have now seen to).
Call them in a few days, I'm sure it will be fine as long as you are the electrol role.
I have an Abbey account now. Might also be worth applying to Barclays cash card account which now comes with a connect visa electron card, although the wait is about 3 weeks. |

I opened mine a couple of months before BR and they just let me carry on with the account unfrozen even though after a couple of weeks after the BR my letter to them from the OR had gone astray. They were great I have had no problems and they were very understanding. |

I opened mine the day I went bankrupt in the branch (15th), next day I had a call from the Manager to say the account had been accepted, four days after going bankrupt had my welcome pack! Only downfall with co-op is that apparantly if you have opened an account in branch recently there has been a c*ck-up.. they have forgotten to order the cash card and pin numbers. So today I am still waiting, won't receive it until middle of next week now which is so annoying as I can't pay my rent, food, petrol until then. Can't get to a branch!!! Argh!

Had a letter from CO OP yesterday to say that they were going to open up a cash minder account for me thankfully :) They just want me to take some id into the bank and its all sorted. (even tho they woman in the bank had already taken photocopies of it, but never mind)

hi, I opened mine a little while ago in preparation for going BR. When asked why I wanted to open one, I said that I would be going BR and they were fine. Just hope it doesn't get frozen now.... |
