hi iv just found this forum and hope that some of your nice people can answer my questions regarding a bank account how do i manage the transission from the one thats frozen to a new one when i have benefits that have to be paid into a bank account and at what point is the current account frozen? also at what point am i supposed to empty the account? its all so confusing:(
Firstly i will try and explain how i did my bank accounts and what i did with regard to monies and DD's that were in the old account.
I called all mt benefit places and apart from Child benefit i had these sent as giros to me for the time on waiting to open a new account, the CB was on hold by them and i called them once i had a new account and gave them the number and they then paid that in. 4 days before the BR hearing i removed all the money from my old current account and kept that for food and the fees and explained this on the SOA. When we had been to court i came home and called the Coop and opened a cashminder account over the phone as i cant get to my local branch its 40 miles away and cont be done online, once the paperwork had come through about 4 or 5 days later i then rang all my DD's companies and also the benefit places and had the money paid into this account. My current account was only closed last friday about 4 weeks after going BR so not as quick as i thought but i could not use it. Hope this helps Jo :)
