Hi Andrew, Before you know it you will be at the court and then it will be all over, well that bit anyhow. I dont know why we have to be really as it is not fair in one sense, maybe the financial institutions should have another way of publicly making the companies aware of the fact we have gone BR. That may come in the near future, but most prob well after we have been discharged. R U nervous now.
Keep Smiling Jo :)

Oh Andrew, Thats real C**p then for you, so its not your doing at all. Dont paypal and ebay get your money back, that is just not fair. No wonder you gave it up, it was not worth it. I have been on ebay for years and i have recently lost out on a Memory stick, i paid then got told 3 days later that the seller was being investigated and i wont get my goods. For me i was well gutted as i bought it for my son to go back to school with, but never mind. So what r u doing now with your old stock, do you have to sell or wait till BR and see what OR says.
Keep Smiling Jo :)

Oh Andrew,
That is really bad, I dont half feel for you. There are some right tossers out there which just dont give a damn and all you wanted to do was make a living. Oh well at least your doing something good now and trying to get your life back on track, i know its hard, been there done that, but i have done what was right for myself and my family and i know it was def the right choice, i dont regret it one bit, just wish really i did it sooner, then maybe i would have done my nursing course and completed it, instead the pressure of the debts ripped my life to shreds and i just could not cope, esp with the house, the kids and a full time course. You will get through it and i know its easy for me to say but believe me in a few weeks you will be glad you did and finding this site helped me and now im trying to help others and give a friendly shoulder to lean on. Take care and ...........
Keep Smiling Jo :)

Hi
you're right it's long past the time when the advertising of personal bankruptcy should have ceased. It was rumoured to be announced around the time of the last budget but it didn't happen. Soon I hope because the original reasons don't really apply anymore.

i dont know why they dont just put us in the stocks in the town square, all it does is push people into IVA's they cant afford and allow the shysters that advertise on the TV to rip people off. no offence melanie giles, you dont need to advertise you are kindness personified |

Hi Andrew,
Historically, BR was for business owners. The purpose of the local ads was in case you had any local trade accounts etc. It's one of the peculiarities of the British legal system which (in effect) dates back to 1066!

Doesn't personally bother me - after all, it's a tiny advert in a section of the paper that noone you'd want to read reads. Do agree it's a bit antiquated in ideals but in some cases it can be in the publics best interests. Perhaps its something that should be looked at bearing in mind circumstances - so people who have committed nasties to get them in financial trouble are advertised but others are not. |

Hi Synaesthesia,
In the end, the timing, location and indeed frequencies of these ads is entirely at the OR's discretion.

when you say frequencies Julian, do you mean that the OR can put your name in the paper more than once?

Hi GP The short answer is YES. They can put it in years after usually when they may be sharing out the assets and any IPA payments to creditors. Or appointing another trustee etc. I know as if once was not bad enough. LOL
