Hi,
Me and my partner are both going to petition for bankruptcy as soon as we get the £475 each.

My question to the forum is when do we have to pay this.

When we take the forms to the court for the 1st time?

To be honest, its very daunting but what is the procedure step by step?

Many thanks for your time
Matt

Hi and welcome,
We paid ours when we took in our SoA and so it was the same day.
Our fee was 495 each as there has been an increase.
Hope this has helped.

Keep Smiling
Jo :)

Hi Matt - welcome to the forum!
You pay your BR fee on the day you attend court.
If you contact your local court they will give you an appointment and generally this is the day you see the judge and are declared BR.
You can ask the court to send you the forms in the post or go onto the insolvency service website and download/complete them online.
Take time with the forms and ask as many questions as you need - you can use any of the experts directly by going through their links on the left hand column (link is called "experts")
I filled in my form using the forum and Brett Englands help.
The day in court is normally short and sweet - you will see a court clerk first - they check through your form and get you to swear an affidavit to say it is true/correct and take your fee. You then see the judge who will declare you BR.
I was before the judge for minutes - it's all very straight forward - everyone is helpful and completely unjudgemental.
I went BR in April and it has been a fresh start for me. I haven't been on the forum for a while but like to keep my hand in as it was a great source of info and support to me and I am sure it will be for you too.

Take care - keep posting your questions

thanks for your replies,
Best i get in touch with the courts for a date.
I'm assuming I just ring them and ask for a date, give them some particulars and then they give me the date?

Hi Matt, I phoned the court today for a date. Earliest was 29th Sept. Did a bit of blagging and got it moved to another one and we are there next Wednesday.
Good luck
