I have my OR interview on the 18th September and I have sent back all my bank statements etc as requested. Since going bankrupt I have opened up a Co-op Cashminder Account. Would the OR require details or bank statements from this?
Also its my partners birthday and I have saved up and wanted to treat him to a race day at Silverstone... not him doing the racing because I couldn't afford that but two tickets to watch the racing. It costs £43 all together. If I paid for this via my Visa Electron card would the OR question this coming out of my account?
I don't want to get in trouble before Ive even started!

Hi Maizie

So if they did ask for statements and saw £43 to Silverstone it wouldn't be a problem?

Hi Maizie,
Im not a 100% sure, but I really dont think that the OR will mind you spending £43 on a present. I think they will only look at it more deeply if the cost ran into £100's. I really should'nt worry about it.
Just be honest with them.
I used to live near Silverstone - you will have a brilliant time, and you should enjoy yourself, as it has been a hard time for you, we all need to escape sometimes! |

Hi there i think with the relatively small amount involved you will be ok. It is the equivalent of saving less than £1.00 a week for less than a year (if that makes sense!!!!)

The Court Official & OR both stated it's fine to open up a new bank account on the day I went BR. The OR confirmed he'd have no interest in it (as it was opened post-BR), and he was more concerned that I'd have access to my salary for day-to-day expenses.
As other posters have stated, £40 ish is a very little amount, and would most probably be anticipated to come out of your DI anyway. |
