A post was put on here a while ago where someone had heard that there was new bankruptcy legislation or rules due to come into force later this year that would affect the availability of bankruptcy.
I have checked with the policy unit at the Insolvency Service and they have sent this reply
"Not aware of anything like this - definitely nothing of ours and can’t think of anything other departments are leading on that has such an impact. Until early this year we were looking to introduce the new Insolvency Rules in October 2008, although there’s nothing very new on the bankruptcy side."
I think as this is straight from the horses mouth as it were we can be assured there is nothing in the pipeline that will make bankruptcy harder or less available.

Hello!
It was me who posted and asked, as a lawyer friend had mentioned something called 'The Green Paper'!!!! Couldnt find anything on the net so asked our experts. No rumour Pix, he just said that it was going to be more difficult! Difficult how? as if losing home and car is not enough!
Thanks Suzanne xx

The only changes I was aware of were DRO's(debt relief orders), and that the option of ED(early discharge ) was going to end as it puts too much of a strain on the case clerks!

Hi Bigal
unfortuanlty the spam poster has brought a 2 year old thread to the top of the tree.
Spam posters are a pain in the A**E and the form hosts try to remove them as soon as possible.

Wouldn't be so bad if they actually read the post first but often they are so far removed from reality it is embarrassing.
