Hi all,

I have booked my brothers honeymoon on my credit card a couple of months ago & the flights are with freedom flights who as im sure most of you know went bust today The company i booked with will not reimberse the cost of the flights nor will they provide alternate flights. If they cant get another flight they will also loose the money paid for the accommodation
Barclaycard say i can put a claim in but it will be about 6 months before they get anywhere near sorted, by which point i will be bankrupt & all the money will be lost.
I still have about £500 on my credit card, would it be an absolute NO to use that towards new flights?

Any help appreciated

Hi Bothskint,

It would be frowned upon utilising further credit knowing you're going BR. However, as long as you make at least one minimum payment back (and that needs to be to everyone to avoid the issue of preferrential payments), you should be ok.

Hey there Bothskint,

I hope you get it all sorted. There are more and more companies including aviation ones going BR, which in itself is a very sad matter, but i suppose in this current climate it is to be expected. Its not nice though when you have put your trust in them only to find out that what you paid for now you wont get.
I do hope that as i have said that it gets all sorted. Good luck mate.

Oh well at least were not alone, eh?
