Hi

The account reference number is the long 16 digit card number.

If you are unsure when you opened the account you can write and ask the bank and they are usually very helpful.

You kay however be better identifying when the debt occured rather than when you took out the credit card.

If the debt was a loan then the date you put down is the date the loan was taken out.

If the debt is a credit card then put down either the date of the major problem OR he range when the problem occured.

Example :-

You took out a barclaycard in 1980 and the debt was built up from 2001 - 2007. The card has not been used in 2008 because you reached the credit lmit etc.
Here I would put 2001 - 2008.

hope that helps

Hi Andrew,

If the card/loan etc was taken out within the last 12 months, try to be as accurate as possible with the date. If it's over 12 months old, the rough month/year will suffice.
