Hi Jo , please correct me if im wrong , but from a previous reply to one of my questions you said your OH was a lorry driver . I am too . Could i ask does he get ' night out ' money for obviously been out in his lorry overnight and if so did you put it on the SoA . In my case i do get ' night out ' money but it is paid cash in hand as and when i have them . It is given as a non-taxable allowance to cover meals and the such when away from home . Obviously if your OH does not do ' nights out ' you will not have a clue what the hell i am going on about . Thanks in antipation of your answer |

Hi Digman
I have just found this question, it was in the July postbag. Never mind. Right:
My OH used to do nights but unlike you he had all his included in his wages and so it became taxable.
I am not sure about yours but i would tell the OR about it as it is for your nights out and living costs which is part of your job.
Hope that helps, if im wrong maybe one of the other experts may suggest a different approach to the money side of things.
Good luck
Jo x

Hi Jo , its hard to say to be honest , from the advice i have been given ( had a long phone call with John ) i think the basics of the SoA and forms should be straight forward , its the next step with the OR that is scaring the ' bejeebies ' out of me . |

Hey Digman
Our OR and the meeting were fine, the court i was most worried about and i know now that i should not have been. Its like anything i can say dont worry but at the end of the day we all do. When are you hoping to go BR. The ORs are only human, be honest with them and answer there quesitons honestly and openly and before you know it, that side will be over and done with. Good luck mate.

Jo , your support & advice is very much appreciated . The thing i am worried about could be seen by the OR in two different ways even if i am totally honest re what happened . |
