Just a general question here, if after discharge and we dont have an IPA in force and we open up a savings account for rainy days can the OR take what you put in there.

Any advice greatly received.

Thank you

Hi Jo,

Wait for the others to reply, but I really think the answer is no. I'm sure that at that point the money's yours to do with what you want (and to REALLY get on with having a life!).

As I said, don't quote me, but I do think that's right.

I think its no too, but it was one of the niggling questions that got me thinking. As i dont know how long the OR sort of rules your life, if you know what i mean, there has to be a cut of point somewhere.
Thanks again.

Oh and i am so worried about jacqui, i hope she is ok. :-(

I think the 'cut off' you mention is at discharge unless you get an IPA? Is that right? (Got me thinking now!)

I'm sure jacqui will be ok. Suzanne's given her some reassurig advice now.

Hi

If no IPA is in place when you are discharged then the OR has no further claim on any of your monies unless it was obtained etc during the period of your bankruptcy.

I don't think the last lot of advice was so reassuring i'm afraid, based on the info she came back with.

Thanks Suzanne.

Can I also ask, if we get an IPA does that mean we can't get an ED?

I saw the reply from Jacqui and hope things get sorted for her.

Hi Suzanne

Thanks for that info, hopefully when we are discharged we can start to save properly and have money to one side for as i said rainy days.

When you say obtained during BR do you mean if we inhertited it or something like that.

I did read the bit about Jacqui i hope that it gets sorted out for her. She knows we are here even as just friends. :-)

Thanks

Thanks, i understand now.

I will hopefully be able to start to look forward once we know what is going on with regards to discharge etc.

I wanted to try from then to save for holidays, christmas, car and also any other things that happen to break if you know what i mean.

I like the idea of saving now as it has always been on credit before and since we went BR well before actually as the only credit we have had since 2006 was added to a catalogue in February for about 600 i think but that was it.

It give me a buzz now to know that what i spend is ours and not something we have to pay back, if that makes sense.
