Dear Forum
Sorry in advance for the long message - I am due to go BR soon. I have finally got round to looking at, and filling out the forms, and I have quite a few questions I was hoping to get help with please?
My situation is a bit unusual, in that I am currently employed but at the time I go BR I will have finished my job and will be on a Career Break and will be going abroad for a year to be with my girlfriend, so most of my questions are based on this. Also, I am currently in a DMP.
Section 1:
1.11 - Do I put down that I am Single? Separated? Civil Partner? (My girlfriend is currently living abroad and we have been separated for 5 months). 1.15 - Does a DMP need to be entered here?
Section 3:
3.1.5 - Would a Snowboard go down as a 'Tool of Your Trade'? I work as a Part Time Snowboard Instructor and therefore use my Snowboard for my job. 3.1.8 - Fixtures and Fittings - What should I put here, if anything??? I own clothes, towels, a wardrobe, a couple of chest of drawers, bedclothes, pots and pans etc. but nothing of real value. 3.1.9 - Freehold Land and Property - what do I put here??? I live in rented accommodation and own no properties. 3.1.10 - Same as above??? 3.1.12 - Pensions etc. - I pay into a Pension Scheme at work in my full time job - it is a Logal Government Pension Scheme - do I need to put this down on the form? 3.1.19 - Any other property - I own a Car (£1,000), Laptop (£400), Camera (£400), Video Camera (£200) and a few other things worth no more than £150 e.g watch, CD's, DVD's etc. Also, I am in possession of a bike (worth £495) which I have on a 'Hire Agreement' from work which must be paid over 18 months (I do not own it until the end of the Agreement) - do I need to put these down and how do I get an accurate valuation of them - they are all at least a year old. 3.4 - Do I have to put my work Pension Scheme down here? (mentioned above). 3.5 - Would selling small items on Ebay need to go down here e.g. Playstation 2, old camera's etc. - nothing more than £50. 3.7 - At what price do you value a vehicle? I have looked at so many different sites and they all seem to give vastly different valuations! Would this be based on Auction Value? 3.9 - I have access to 3 different vehicles on an occasional basis at work - do these need to be listed?
Section 4:
Is this the Section to put down Personal Loans and Credit Cards? Should I put Student Loans down? Should I put my Bike Hire Agreement down? What if I can't remember the exact date I took out the Credit? What if I can't remember the reason I took out the Credit (most of it was 'consolidation' - oh how I regret that now!)?
Section 5:
5.1 - Do I still have to include Credit Cards if they are long cut up and gone???!!! 5.4 - Do I just list all Bank Accounts here? Do I put all Bank Accounts down, whether they are overdrawn or not?
Sections 6, 7 and 8:
I am not aure what to put down for these Sections, as on the day I go BR I will have finished work for the Career Break, I will have received my last pay, and all my final payments for bills, rent etc. will have been paid by then - so should I just leave it blank???
Section 9:
Does this Section just relate to poperty as in houses or does this apply to things like items sold on Ebay etc. e.g. camera's etc.???
Section 11:
11.1 - What date do I out down for when I started struggling to pay debt? Thinking back over the past few years, I have been struggling for a while - juggling debt, balance transfers, consolidation loans etc. - do I include this or just the date when I actually stopped paying my Creditors 11.2 - What is acceptable to go down here? I have a number of reasons - living beyond my means, living an unrealistic lifestyle, being a bit financially naive, expensive car problems, my girlfriend having to leave and living costs going up - there's loads!!!
Right, I think that's it for now!!!
Any help / advice would be very much appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance...

Hi again Dazed,
Not sure if you missed my message or maybe you've managed to get your form sorted now. Hope you're ok. It's hard work filling them in!

Hi d&c ,
just finished reading the post , started while eating breakfast at 8.30am , LOL !!
cant answer all your queries but can maybe help on some ;
1.11 would say put down single
3.15 snowboard , i would think would constitute a tool of your trade as you use it to earn money
3.18 i would say write NONE as i did
3.19 write NONE again as it relates to property you own
3.10 as above
3.12 pensions . i would suggest it had to be put down
3.4 yes again re pension
3.5 no wouldnt bother with ebay stuff unless it was high value stuff -- i didnt !
3.7 there is good link on needafriends blog re car valuations
3.9 wouldnt of thought so as it on an occaisional basis . think it relates more to company cars that you have permanent use of for pleasure / business
section4 - yes personal loans / credit cards go there but make sure you put them in the unsecured section and not secured section . as for your student loan i dont know and same for the bike - sorry . as for the date we just put down approx date and wrote approx after it . we just put down consolidation and general living costs
section 5 - dont know re cut up cards but yes all bank accounts should be listed - o/d or not
section 6 - i would think you fill in the bit about if you are unemployed , when did you last work , what was your job and who was your employer
section 7 & 8 sorry dont know re your situation
section 9 does just relate to houses
section 11 - think its just a personal thing . dont think it matters to be exact as the OR will determine when you were struggling
Dont know if i have helped and while i am typing this other members have probably posted as well ,
Good luck ,
Andy
