Hi,
Had a letter today from a debt collection co. saying that i didn't respond to their last letter, and they are writing to the land registry to confirm my ownership of the house, and then apply to put a charge order on my house, when i got the first letter i phoned them and told them i was goind BR and gave them the date, they said there was nothing they could do now and to let them know when it took effect,
Can they do this?,

basically yes they can although there is a process they will need to follow to get a final charge against the property which takes time.If you declare BR before the final charging order is granted then that effectively stops them in their tracks.
Have you booked your BR appointment yet?

Thanks for the reply, Their letter was dated 2nd October, i phoned the court on 29th September and got an appointment date for 4th November,
